St. Charles Bend is the flagship hospital of St. Charles Health System, the largest employer in Central Oregon, and is Oregon's only Level II trauma center east of the Cascades. It serves as the regional referral center for a wide catchment, providing anesthesia for trauma, cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurosurgical, obstetric and general surgical cases. The system also operates hospitals in Redmond, Madras and Prineville.
