WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center is a 260-bed acute care hospital in Martinsburg serving the eastern panhandle, designated a Level III Trauma Center with a 24-hour Emergency Department handling over 50,000 visits annually. Its surgical services are supported by a cardiac catheterization lab, full digital and interventional radiology, and a 20-bed ICU/CCU. Anesthesia is delivered through a physician-led care team in which CRNAs manage induction, maintenance, and emergence of general, regional, and monitored anesthesia cases in cooperation with medically directing anesthesiologists, and the group participates in training newly hired CRNAs and SRNAs.
